The latest: Dylan (Goes) TURF & dmexco review

Here at the labs we pride ourselves on hosting a diversity of talents that go far beyond cutting-edge computing. Many of the more obscure entries in our talent catalogue come to us via Dylan, our front end developer who’s been hosting the awesome Native Javascript Ninjutsu series on our Code Talk channel.

There’s no doubt that he’s a native javascript ninja, but Dylan is a man of many other talents, including glassblowing, VJing, and …TURFing? (It’s okay, I didn’t know what it was, either.) Apparently TURF stands for “Taking Up Room (on the dance) Floor.” If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this video of Dylan TURFing has got to be worth at least a dozen Wikipedia articles. Without further ado:

We’ve already decided to throw him in a sociomantic labs T-shirt and have him TURF his way around the dmexco exhibit hall in 2011 — our not-so-secret weapon.

Speaking of the dmexco, I just wanted to share a couple of the photos we managed to grab in Cologne. It was an incredibly busy and exciting time for us. We made a lot of excellent connections and met with several compelling new collaborators. And we even managed to find some evening hours to sip a few of Cologne’s finest selections of Kölsch.

We’re already looking forward to next year — maybe you’ll see Dylan TURFing there.
