Greta Barsanti to Head New Sociomantic Office in Milan

Today, we are proud to announce the launch of our Milan-based operations under the leadership of Greta Barsanti, who has been appointed Managing Director Italy.

Our launch in Milan follows several months of rapid expansion, including new operations in Chicago, San Francisco, Mumbai, and Singapore (as reported in TechCrunch). Barsanti, who has spent her career working across nearly every channel of digital advertising, now brings her deep expertise to one of the fastest growing companies in online advertising today.

Barsanti joins Sociomantic at a time of rapid growth. During the previous fiscal year, Sociomantic grew its global team 210% in the past 12 months to over 150 employees worldwide, delivering campaigns for eCommerce marketers in more than 60 countries. Barsanti’s previous positions include leadership roles at the likes of digital advertising companies like Google, Tradedoubler, and RCS Publicitá, giving her a broad understanding of the digital space in Italy.

Italian marketers are moving increasingly towards performance marketing as a way to drive demand with a focus on return on investment. The greater availability of Sociomantic solutions and services on the Italian market will make it easier for enterprise eCommerce advertisers to take advantage of performance-driven display advertising solutions for desktop, Facebook, and mobile. According to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), performance marketing now accounts for 6 percent of total online advertising spend in Italy.
