Sociomantic Labs Puts Down Roots in Istanbul

Gözde Alemli joins the #dreamteam to deliver innovative display ad tech to Turkish eCommerce marketers

Today we are pleased to announce the launch of the newest Sociomantic office in Istanbul, with operations led by Gözde Alemli, who joins the company as Commercial Director Turkey. Having served online retailers in Turkey with programmatic display advertising services since 2012, we are thrilled to now have the opportunity to open our local doors for customers in this quickly growing eCommerce market. This expansion starts a much-anticipated chapter in the Sociomantic story, following closely on the heels of recent openings in Singapore, Milan and Stockholm.

Gözde Alemli brings to Sociomantic her extensive eCommerce and entrepreneurial experience after working in various marketing and business development roles for over the last decade. She started her career at Marsh & McLennan Companies, where she was responsible for the planning and implementation of projects along with sales and prospecting activities. Later, as a founding member and managing partner of Turkish shopping club AlaMarka, she played a major role in establishing the company, including setting up teams and processes as well as developing brand and communication strategies in order to grow the business. Most recently, as a chief marketing officer at Altıncı Cadde, a leading home deco website, she has introduced a diverse set of online marketing and CRM tools, a role, which has also contributed to her successful background in the achievement of profitable business growth.

We are especially pleased to bring our services closer to home for existing customers like Zizigo and Trendyol.

“I’m pleased to say that Sociomantic has delivered significant revenue growth for Zizigo throughout our cooperation, which began in 2012,” said Nina Güvenç, marketing manager and co-founder of Zizigo, Turkey’s largest online shoe retailer. “Sociomantic’s data-driven, user-centric approach to personalized marketing helps Zizigo to better engage our customers and prospects and ultimately turn our shoppers into buyers.”

For Mustafa Kemal Temel, online marketing director at leading Turkish online shopping club Trendyol, Sociomantic has proven an important partner to help them grow the market share. “Sociomantic’s full-service programmatic display solutions have helped Trendyol to grow our business with incremental sales driven at a sustainable ROI,” said Temel. “Sociomantic understands the unique challenges that a shopping club like Trendyol is up against, and has continuously innovated technologies such as Product Data Streaming to help us circumvent those challenges and achieve our goals. We look forward to deepening the cooperation beyond desktop and Facebook ads with new mobile campaigns this year.”

Turkey has the fifth largest online population in Europe, according to the International Telecommunications Union, and with credit-card penetration at 60 percent — 10 percent higher than the European average — Turkish eCommerce is set for a high growth trajectory in the coming year. Add to that the fact that Turkish web users are the “third-heaviest consumers of Facebook,” according to the Wall-Street Journal, and you have what seems to be the recipe for continued growth of eCommerce in Turkey.

Founded in Berlin in 2009, today Sociomantic works with eCommerce marketers in more than 60 markets across six continents. Its international customers include global eCommerce leaders such as Forever 21, Dafiti, Hilton, Office Shoes and many more.

Over the past 12 months Sociomantic’s headcount has grown by more than 260 percent and the company now has more than 200 employees across 16 offices worldwide. Given its current global footprint and growing demand, the company plans to double in again over the next 12 months.

Welcome to the team, Gözde!
