No Reservations: New Survey Shows Travelers Have Time, Money & Freedom to Book

95 percent of travelers report airline websites as top destination for travel planning

For both business and leisure travel, new websites, apps and services are giving consumers more choices than ever for planning the perfect getaway or in-person meeting. With the range of options available, no two travelers take the same path throughout the research, planning and purchase process.

Understanding how travelers approach the travel process – the devices they use, the sites or apps they rely on, the time between planning and travel – will allow marketers to more effectively communicate. To help marketers with this task, we commissioned an independent research firm to conduct a survey of 1,000 business and leisure travelers for our latest travel report.

A few of our findings include:

  • When it comes to business travel, 57% of travelers book more than two weeks in advance.
  • When on personal travel, food and entertainment are the top two items consumers are willing to splurge on.
  • 59% of respondents said personalized digital advertising positively influenced their likelihood to purchase.
