Bukalapak bridges gap between install base and active users with in-app programmatic display advertising

After launching for only a year, Indonesian online marketplace Bukalapak’s Android app became the most downloaded shopping app in Indonesia. However, there was a large discrepancy between the number of installs and the number of monthly active users (MAUs).

Bukalapak partnered exclusively with Sociomantic to activate the idle users and bring them back to the shopping app using Sociomantic’s proprietary in-app marketing suite, AppKit.

The results? In just seven months, Bukalapak saw an average increase of 36 per cent in MAUs and 81.9 per cent in in-app sales.
